Attendify: RFID-Powered Attendance
I developed Attendify, an RFID-based attendance system, after my younger cousin referred me to her classmate, who needed a solution for their classroom to monitor students’ attendance specifically to track who enters, along with their exact time in and time out. Since the project required both hardware and software expertise, I collaborated with my college classmate Danmar Nacario. He handled the backend development, while I focused on creating the frontend interface.

The system was built using an Arduino kit programmed in C++ to process RFID card scans. Each student taps their RFID card when arriving or leaving, and the system automatically logs the time. On the web side, we developed a simple yet functional interface with HTML, CSS, and PHP, making it easy for teachers or administrators to review attendance records.

What began as a small referral turned into a meaningful project that brought together IoT hardware and web technologies. Working with Danmar allowed me to experience real collaboration, from dividing responsibilities to integrating hardware and software into one complete solution.
Through Attendify, I gained valuable hands-on experience in device integration, data management, and user-centered design. The project not only improved my technical skills but also strengthened my teamwork, problem-solving, and project delivery abilities. In the end, we were so happy that the students successfully passed their research defense with this system.
