My Third Race Run (Decathlon Half Marathon 2025)
On September 28, 2025, I ran the Decathlon Half Marathon, my third official race and my very first 21km half marathon a goal I’d been chasing since I began running. After months of training, I was a mix of excitement and nerves, ready to see what I could do over this longer distance. Crossing the finish line was unforgettable. I completed my first 21km in 1 hour and 53 minutes a personal best and a sub-2-hour finish on my very first attempt. Achieving that milestone was incredibly rewarding, and it showed me that consistent training and determination truly pay off.
I’m especially grateful to Sir Loreto, who guided me through my LSD (long slow distance) training sessions. His advice, patience, and encouragement helped me build both the endurance and mindset I needed to tackle this half marathon. I also owe a huge thank-you to my girlfriend, who supported me every step of the way waiting for me at the finish line, cheering me on, and giving me the extra motivation to push through. Having her there made the accomplishment even more meaningful.
This race reminded me of the value of discipline, patience, and self-belief. From my first run, to my second race, and now this half marathon, I can see how much progress I’ve made. Each race feels like a new chapter in my journey, and this one was a big leap forward. I’m grateful for the experience, the people I ran alongside, and the milestone I reached. The Decathlon Half Marathon will always be memorable the day I conquered my first 21km, set a personal record, and proved that I can push beyond my limits. And this is just the beginning—there are more races to run and new goals to chase!
